I'm trying to add an MP3 clip as a background music to a video project in Pinnacle 8. I opened the clip under Album and dragged it into the Timeline track for background music (&). I clipped it to the duration I wanted to run it. When I play the video it comes up with a window showing "Loading MP3 audio (name of the clip)" I understand that the software is trying to compile the music from my cd to this video. But this window keeps flashing on and off in an infinite loop. I let it run for a whole night but it didn't do anything. Does anybody know how I could fix this?? Thanks.

It's been a while since I worked with Studio 8 but I still have it. I'll see if I can figure something out.
While waiting did you have the updates before they moved to S9?
There were a couple if I remember.
I might be a day or two before I can check I am up to it myself in problems right now but I'll check. -
Thanks for checking. Hope you figure out something.
I worked on it some more this weekend. Instead of an MP3 I used an audio CD and tried to rip the music into my project using the Pinnacle Studio CD Audio tool. The audio tool reads and plays the track. It lets me add it as a background score. But when I play it, it doesn't give any music.
About the MP3 I'm wondering if there is some software out there that will convert an MP3 into a .wav file and use that instead, just for kicks. Would you know of any such software?
Nope, I didn't update the studio8 to the higher versions. I use this sparingly for home videos so I didn't invest in an update. -
Hi vikasp,
Sorry for the delay. Having some issues with a new scanner. In Pinnacle Studio 8.12, I opened a avi file and for MP3 as background music I went to Menu bar/Album/sound effects. When you get there a little folder icon should be on the page. Click on it. It will bring up a "Open" Window. Select the directory and file you wish to add and click open. The file will be added to the effects folder. Right click the file and select copy. In the timeline go to the background music track and right click and select paste. Trim to desired length and finish edits then render to what ever format you wish. It worked fine for me as an AVI/Stream. I couldn't render to tape because I am having 1394 issues.
Hope this helps. If it doesn't let me know. As soon as I can breathe again I'll see if I can give you more imput.
