Problems with MyDVD 8 premium

I have been trying to use MyDVD 8 Premium, but it seems on the authored dvd, the video ever 60 seconds or so, starts to go slow and then speed back up again. I tried closing every background program I have running, but it doesn't seem to help. Does anyones else have this problem?

PLEASE give us more information about your source video,downloaded divx,xvid, captured dv video? or ???
What settings are you using? PAL,NTSC?
Tried any other authoring or all-in-one tools?

I was using Sonic MyDVD specifically because I am burning Tivo files. I know you can convert the tivo files to a normal format, but I don't have much extra room in my hard drive and would like to do it with the mydvd program. I am using NTSC and I am doing the 16x9 mode. I tried downloading updates but I keep getting an error that says "The Update Service does not recognize this product. Please contact your software vendor for updates to this product. Error 13003:Version Not Registered with the Update Service." However, I did register the software. However, i am not sure what is causing the video to slow down and speed up .... is anyone else having that problem?
