    here is the situation. i have a .mov file and when i play it using QT it works fine...sound and video....i then try to convert it to .dv so i can add it to a movie i'm making in iMovie and when i put it in ffmpegx it says no video or audio. So i tried to just add it to iMovie to see if it works and it imported video but no sound....

    what happened? why is it not showing video or audio when i add the file to ffmpegX for conversion?

    seeing as you're using imovie anyway, why not export the .mov file from imovie to .dv format. this may be simpler
