  1. I bought a new LG H10N yesterday. I burnt a few DVD (DVD+R) and they were fine. Somehow I could not burn in DVD-RW disc.

This was the first time I use DVD-RW. Do I have to format the DVD-RW first or is there anything I have to do before I can copy files ?

In Windows Explorer, the DVD drive shows "DVD-RAM Drive" but when I insert the DVD-RW, it changes into "CD Drive".

In Nero's Get System Info, it does show DVD-RW.

I use RW discs just like I would a regular disc. Just add the files you want to burn into your burning software, insert the disc, and hit burn.

You only need to format the disc if you are trying to use the multi session option.

You may also want to see if there is new firmware for your drive.

Is media -RW or +RW? Perhaps you're not sure since you state both formats. Check the LG forum on CDFreaks, and you may learn from reviews LG doesn't burn -R/RW as well as +R/RW which means +R/RW would be better media choice. You should also find links to firmware there that might help.
