I have an Apex 5131 player. I have burned svcd and vcd.

The player has the following 2 problems:
with regard to vcd's, will not play the disc upon insertion (or play button). You first need to select dvd digest from remote or the menu button on the player. Then you need to select #1 option. Is there a way to play a discs without going through those steps?

With regard to vcd and svcd:
If you chose to play a specific chapter, the player will play the selected chapter and then stop the disc. It will not continue to play the remainder of the disc. What can be done to resolve this problem.
I used the following in compiling my disc:
smartripper (to rip)
dvd2avi (framserver)
TMPGEnc (encoder)
chapterXtractor (for chapters)
VCDEasy (to create bin file - authoring)
CD Mate (to burn)
