    This question may have already been answered but i cannot find it, if this is the case can someone please refer me to the thread?

    I need a walkthrough of the dvd authoring process

    heres the catch, im poor AND i dont like bootleged software. is there any freeware out there that i could use?

    DVDAuthorGUI or GUI for DVDAuthor would be good places to start. Both freeware. If you look just below the programs on the 'Tools' page, you should see some basic guides. Also guides for other programs in 'AUTHOR' to the left.

    You could also look at the freeware DivxToDVD that can convert some video formats to DVD.

    The divxtodvd freeware does it have that annoying logo burned into the image?

    No logo on the freeware version, but it also lacks some nice features.

    Just a note:
    I faithfully use freeware for about 95% of my DVD burning. DVDDecrypter, ImgTool and ImgBurn are widely considered the best...free or not.

    Just about every DVD writer comes with bundled burning software. Check the CD that came with the drive (or the computer).
