Dear forum friends, I hope you can help me with a problem I'm having with my new Win-TV-PVR-150 (model 1045).

It works fine with the NTSC channels, and I have been also able to turn a couple of NTSC video tapes into mpegs, acquiring them very well.

So, everything looks really good for NTSC.

I'm having the following problem: I have many videotapes in PAL format, done in many years in Italy (I'm from there) and I'd now like to also transform them in mpeg then put in DVDs.

I have an European VCR (PAL BG-DK), that I use with a voltage converter, and it works well. I connected it to the Win-TV-PVR using the composite video cable and audio, I configured things using the Suite Manager (input sources ---> composite) adding the "composite channel" selecting the PAL (BGHIDK). But when I play the PAL videotape, the audio is perfect, but the video is very distorted: just flashing in black and white, I can barely understand what is being shown: then I configured the "external 1" to all the available types of PAL, one at a time, and there is no visible change on the distorted video shown. Even if I select NTSC, it looks the same, so I'm convinced that the card is not acquiring the PAL video signal in the right way.

Could you suggest what to do to resolve this issue and acquire my PAL videotapes ? I see Hauppauge also has the Win-TV-PVR 150 model 1046 with PAL tuner, but I don't need that, since I live in USA and I just want to see and record the NTSC channels (and it works well).

I only would like to know how I should configure the external composite video input processing, in order to acquire the PAL signal.

Thanks a lot.
