    Hi,
I want to create individual music files from DVD to play in my MCPC (Nero Home) much like music files. I currently rip Music DVDs with DVD Decrypter using IFO Mode with the Split by Chapter Option & selected the 5.1 tracks to get indiviudal VOBs on the HDD. I then used VOB2MPG to extract MPEG files from the VOB.

This seems to work fine if the Audio Track is DD, but VOB2MPG V2.3 crashes (ffmpeg) if the VOB contains a 5.1 DTS96/24 Track (as selected by DVD Decrypter).

    1) Does VOB2MPG support DTS5.1 96/24 or how to fix it?
    2) Any other progs / suggestions of simply pulling the chapters off a DVD as MPEG files without reencoding?

    Thanks
    Nathan

Well if the VOBs you have are under 1GB then you can just rename to .mpg if not then you can instruct DVD Decrypter to not split a the 1GB point.

If you want me to address the issue in VOB2MPG then you can send me a few MBs as a sample (using https://www.videohelp.com/forum/images/guides/p1235363/makesample.zip)

    Thanks ChrissyBoy,
I've played some more and now have a seperate issue on the software player support for DTS. As suggested I now just rename the VOB's (after chapter splitting by DVD Decrypter). I take it from your post there is a limit of 1GB (is this correct) for simply renaming and that SVCD2DVD allows larger VOB to MPG conversions?
    Thanks again

Well by default in IFO Mode, DVD Decrypter will split what you tell it to extract into 1GB files... You can override this by changing the settings:

so now you will get a single file which you can rename.

Thanks - so what does VOB2MPG do that renaming does not?
