im authoring a dvd, but maestro says that my project will be 4.9gb in size. What should I "shirink" to make it fit in a 4.7 normal dvd? Im using a m2v source as video and a .wav audio file.

The best option is always to encode your source to the correct size to begin with. Then you don't have this problem. That is what bitrate calculators are for.
Failing that, in your case the simplest fix would be to encode your audio to AC3 using ffmpeggui. Use a high bitrate like 256 or even 384 for stereo and you won't notice any loss under most circumstances, and you will save a shedload of space. LPCM is usually 1536 kbps, and therefore eats a lot of disc. As you are not far over, this is the likely cause of your size problem.Read my blog here.

yea, i think so. I Extracted it from a XviD file using DIKO. I got an error while running that soundforge app that encode in 2 or 5.1 (forgot the name) so I ended with a .wav file. How can I check the khz of wav file?
