Hi guys, not sure this is the right place for this question but wasn't sure where to put it.

I'm using Subtitle Workshop to add subtitles to a movie which has been converted to DVD. I have the VOB file and the application opens it but the preview is all garbled. I can't see the film and so can't sync up the subs with the movie.

It seems to be only with VOB files. I can open all other video files and see them fine. I even tried converting the DVD into AVI but when I burn it back to DVD with the subs they are out of sync.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

can you play the vobs with windows media player?

Yep, the VOBs play fine with Windows Media Player & all the other players I have (VLC, BSplayer, etc.).

I have already ripped the files to my HD (and no, it's not a commercial DVD).

Also, I tested it with other VOB files and it does the same thing - garbled preview.

    Use DivXLand Media Subtitler.
    It plays VOB's.
