- DVDFab Decrypter. It's freeware, and it's very good.
- AutoGK (simple) or Gordian Knot (advanced) for the conversion of the ripped DVD files to AVI. Again, both are freeware, but AutoGK is simple and Gordian Knot provides a lot of control over the final video.
You can use any DVD burning program that supports DVD Video to burn the files ripped by DVDFab Decrypter to a DVD-R, but you will need DVD Shrink (again, freeware) to compress the video down if you want to copy a dual-layer DVD (most comercial DVDs) to a single-layer DVD-R.
I can't really tell you which commercial packages you could use, because I've always used the freeware ones. They work very well. Maybe someone else could provide advice on commercial packages. -
I agree with you Cobra; and Xvid can also do a good job - and it's freeware!

As for the DVD Ripping question, DVDFab Decrypter is widely regarded as one of the best ripping tools around ATM. Then to remove copyright warnings and such, VOBBlanker, TitleSetBlanker, PGCEdit or DVDRemake can all do the job.If in doubt, Google it. -
ok i rip with dvdFab decrypter.. will i get like a bunch of files?.. if so what do i do with them to convert to avi and/or to burn to dvd disc...
for copyright all i need is something so i will be able to copy the dvd if there are protection on it
to jimmalenko: i would like software that is payware because *cough* i can get them no problem :P -
You should get a VIDEO_TS folder with a number of files in it.
If you just want to remove the encryption, then after ripping you can just turn around and burn the VIDEO_TS folder with your favorite burning software. I use Nero Express's DVD-Video template normally.
Or alternatively you could try DVDDecrypter ISO Read mode to rip and then ISO Write mode to burn.If in doubt, Google it. -
its not a folder.. its just a folder full of video_ts files
