newbie post.
i have been reading the message boards for about a week trying to find the answer to my problems, so if there is already a discussion in progress, please point me to it.
the problem/issue
I have a replay4000. I have it recording shows in high quality. I can "pull" the file directly from the machine to my PC (so no problem there). The file appears to be an mpg 740x480 (i think) with 48khz sound. (DVD quality?)
I want to archive my "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" shows. This entails trimming out the commercials, and recompressing to xvcd or svcd format (i am still playing with that part). My problem is that the editing won't work. I have tried the guide on this site (http://www.vcdhelp.com/bbmpegedit.htm) but at the demultiplex bit if crashes.
As far as i can figure, the MPG form is a little off (like that kid in special ed.). I am looking for a way to "Fix" this problem. Ideally, the fix would not result in re-encoding the file, but simply rewritting the file so that it is "STANDARD".
Any help is greatly appreciated, and any questions about the replay are welcome.
Thanks
