  1. Anyway to do this without having to start encode again?

  2. Just hit "Stop" ...a confirmation window "Abort Encoding?" will pop up. When you ready to start the encoder again just click "no" and it picks up up where it left off.

I discovered that also, although a pause button where you could quit and then resume later would be very usefull at times.

for me, when I am in the middle of an encoding project which is usually in the
batch mode for me, and I'm watching my satalete tv shows and things or just
surfing around the channels, I find that I end up needing to capture something
real quick, like maybe someone getting ready to pants the pres. or moon the
priest, etc. I don't have time to reset my machine and stop my encoding or
whatever necessary. What I just do is press stop, (hopefully, you're at an area
in your display (desktop) that you can start your app from) and what I do is
leave it as it is, and lounch my capture app, AVI_IO and start capturing.
Soon as it's finished, I resume my encoding project by pressing the NO button
(don't make the mistake of press YES. I have and made a big mistake!

This works for me all the time, and I have no frame loss issues by doing this.
