  1. I went to the the store today and just looked at the recorders and found the Panasonic DMR EH75VS. That thing had a VCR with SQPB playback, built in HHD (it didn't say how big), a DVD burner in it (on the front it said burns to RAM/+ and - R/RW disks). As well as Divx playback. It had a DV input as well as SD card reader. It also had HDMI 720p/1080i upconverstion. One S-Vid on the front, 3 S-Vid connectors on the back (I think.) I couldn't look too much because the sales people where on top of you before you could eyeball it asking you if they could help you and looking at you if you tried to pick up or move the unit to look in the back. I was surprised about how thin the unit is for packing a VCR/burner/HDD/card reader/up converter all in one unit. It's smaller than my old Panasonic E80 as well as my old VCR/DVD burner combo. In fact, to me, at first glance it didn't look much bigger than a Pioneer 633. The unit glows blue on the bottom right next to the SD card reader.

Personally, I'm going to try to read reviews about this during the year and see if there is some sort of price break around Christmas.

I purchased the unit. I would hold off until I get an answer from Panasonic on why I get glitches every half hour. Basically the DVD is breaking the video into VOB files of size 1,048,544 KB each and there is a dropout of about one second at the transition point. Obviously this is useless, but an Internet search turned up no other complaint like this, so they will likely tell me how to fix it... I hope!
