Is there any point in using a advc300 dv output to a dvd recorder,would picture qualuity improvement result?

Well the 300 does have some filters so if they are improving picture quality then absolutely. I guess it would depend on your source video and whatever other hardware you have. If the source is really good then I'd assume the opposite would be true since you would be going through two conversions.

If you decide to get a JVC or Panasonic SVHS in the near future (for better results), you'll need to bridge the S-Video output via the advc300...Simply put, it will slightly open up your hardware choices.. -
Not really. The ADVC 300 doesn't do as much as other equipment you could buy for the same money.
