  1. Hello,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this.

Has anyone purchased double DVD cases from RIMA recently and been happy with them? The reason I ask is that I had some bought for me in May item #6162. When I recieved them (200 of them) I pulled them out of their boxes and placed on shelves. Packing boxes were thrown away. Anyway, when I ran out of cases I was using I started using the new RIMA cases. The cases are the worst piece of crap I have ever ordered from RIMA. The DVD's don't stay clipped inside the cases. They can often be found floating around in the cases loose. The point of this question is to see if anyone has purchased any item #6166 from RIMA. They don't have item #6162 anymore and when you do a search it takes you to item #6166. I am wondering if they are the same. So, has anyone bought these and are you satisfied with them?

By the way...I am very pleased with RIMA. This is not to be taken as a slam at RIMA. They were very fair with me. After explaining this issue they gave me a store credit to purchase there. I will shop there again.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I think most of the standard single and double DVD cases - the $25. or so per 100 probably come from the same place, maybe China or somewhere with equal QC.
I purchased a case around the end of March and have the exact same problem. The worst case ever for me. I purchase cases from shop4tech because of the always 10% off and free shipping > $22.50 / 100. So if they are bad I dont have too much invested.
It's a crap shoot. Almost every box is different. Some have thinner plastic, sometimes the insert covers dont fit as good and in this case the disc just wont fit the spindle.

I buy all my media from Rima but go the cheaper route for cases - free shipping, etc.
It was nice of Rima to give you credit. I'm not sure how S4T would have handled the situation. Unless buying the more expensive Amaray or a noted high quality case these standard cases are always different from one purchase to the next in my experience.
My case had a weird punch hole through the sides. Not really a hole but a round indention on the front and back. Reminded me of the old cut-out LP's.
    Glad you got the credit.

The super-cheap cases sold at online stores (like supermediastore, rima, shop4tech and others) are usually not well made. Cheap, yes. Okay for personal use? Maybe. Business-quality? Absolutely not. I prefer to get business-quality cases from effectuality.ca

Meritline has good 2-disc cases, but for some reason the ones bought at FRY'S ELECTRONICS under the Meritline name brand seem to be better than the ones you get directly from meritline.com. Go figure.

I agree. There's no way in good conscience I could use these "super" cheap cases in a business setting.
I just checked effectuality.ca and they look much better just from the picture. Unfortunately they are in Canada and living so far away the shipping is more than the price of a box of 100. But, the actual cost of the case is cheaper than the cost of these super cheapie mass market ones. $22.00 to ship $19.90 in product. Still $42.00 is not bad at all if used in your business. I bookmarked anyway even thouigh this is just a hobby for me. Anymore of these as bad as my last case and I'll give them a shot.
Considering the product, credit card fees, shipping materials, labor, and UPS shipping from coast to coast all for $22.50, S4T must be paying pennies per case. So in that sense I'm getting what I pay for and really shouldn't complain...

    OP- mwkurt:
If you live near Canada or just want better quality - might be worth checking out.

lordsmurf & ultraman36...thanks for the link.
