Karen Navratil here, I've accumulated about 50 Xvid movies the past 2 months and have
started storing them on DVD. I can fit anywhere from 4 to 7 movies on a DVD. Is there a
free or cheap program out there that will let me assign titles to the movies so that
the Menu appears on my TV screen with the title for each movie? Right now the movies
are just showing up as a chapter without any info. I have to skip thru each movie and
play a short segment at the beginning to figure out what I'm watching!!

Are you storing them on DVD as avi files? If you are, then there is not any supported menu system. Your dvd player is just listing the files on the disc. Most dvd players just list them in a file manager type view by title. File display varies between dvd players.
If you want to spend the time converting all of the movies into dvd compliant mpeg files, then you can use the authoring program of your choice and create a menu system.Google is your Friend -
If you do choose to convert to dvd format you will only get 1-2 titles per disk, depending on length of movie. Blank DVDs are cheap nowadays, so your only real cost is time.

If you are buring them as data to play back on a Divx certified player then most likely the answer is no. If your player is very new and divx ultra certified then you might be able to create menus for each title, although I don't know if you can create a menu for multilpe titles. You would have to use something like DivxMenuBuilder.
I would test this out with an RW disc first though.Read my blog here.
