    In your opinions, what the best program (free, share, commercial, etc) to convert .wmv files to .avi or .mpg?

    I got these results by going to the left-hand side of the screen, clicking on "Convert" and then using the drop-down menu to search for the conversion feature you wanted. It's a great way to search for what you need - give it a shot!

    Anyway:

    WMV --> AVI:

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=&s=&orderby=Name&hits=50&convert=WMV+to+AVI&...+or+List+tools

    WMV --> MPG:

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=&s=&orderby=Name&hits=50&convert=WMV+to+MPG&...+or+List+tools

    You can take your pick. What is the final file destined for? Conversion to DVD, or something web-based?

    For conversion to MPG, I'd use TMPGEnc - it's a very good little encoder.
