He's looking for sample warning screens to put at the beginning of his videos.
You can get various FBI warning screens just from google image search:
http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=fbi+warning&btnG=Search
To give notice of copyright you have to have a screen that shows the (c) symbol and the year it was created and then the name of the author somewhere. You should also include the phrase, "All Rights Reserved" for protection in certain countries. You should just create this yourself in any imaging program, you can even use Microsoft paint.
If you need to convert these images (jpg, bmp, etc..) to a video file you can use TMPGenc. It will load it as a video source just fine. -
As soon as it's made, it's automatically copyrighted.
You can protect yourself further by sending it in to the national copyright office should a dispute arise in the future...but you're still the owner regardless.
I leave mine without warnings or corner bugs in the hopes someone will incorporate a clip into their project...but I don't care if it's used or not. -
zoobie, the US is one of the few countries that grants a copyright at the time of creation. Most require either registration or publishing. So it is important to include the copyright notice as well as the term, all rights reserved, otherwise someone can in fact steal the rights to the clip in another country and from there even turn around and gain the rights in the US if you can't prove you created it first.
But with that said, the main reason to include warnings is to show evidence that the infringer had notice of the copyright. This typically entitles you to greater damages. That and the hopes that telling people not to copy will make them less likely to do so...but that doesn't mean much these days.
You are always required to deposit 2 copies of your work with the Library of Congress if you publish the work, but few do this and you will only be penalized if you end up suing for infringement later on down the line. Deposit also is a good way to give constructive notice to would be infringers, but if you want actual protection of your copyright than you must register it with the Copyright Office which costs about $30. -
I put a bad imitation of Cartmen (I call him Kortmann) and he says: "Copy this and I'll kick you in the nuts!"

adam, you've done your homework with that excellent answer.
I'd have a tough time proving the clips were mine if I didn't register since there's no time code on the tapes...heh heh -
