  1. My family just bought s brand new entertainment system for christmas, and we went ahead and installed it all this morning. Its suround sound all of that. Now, all I am wondering is if it will play vcds. Like ripped dvds. It says in the box that is supports cd-r and cd-rw so I know it plays those. I just want to know if it plays dvds so I can burn them for my family.

    The model number on the box was

    Pioneer HTP-510DV

    Thanx for all of your help

    Don't see it in this list;

    http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/50-pioneer-htd-5-multi-region-dvd-system.html

    Most cdr/cdrw do play VCD's.. WHY NOT TRY IT AND SEE ???

  4. .... If it's got an MPEG1 decoder built-in to it AND it plays CDR/CDRW you should have no problem in playing a standard VCD.

    i have the same model but it goes by the name XV-HDT1 here in the Philippines. It plays VCD's and SVCD's. My only problem with it is that the Time Search function doesn't work with my SVCD's. Only with the VCD's. Do you know of any solution for this?
