Now what happened? I have in a music file about 25 songs that I have used on 3 different projects in Premiere 6.5. Now all of a sudden Premiere no longer recognizes they are in the folders, yet they are there. The only thing I have done recently is put in a new firewire for my Handycam and changed those settings. I could have sworn the music was wav not wma. I don't even know what wma is.

Is is just these clips, or is it for all your sound??

There should be a flyout at the top right of the monitor window..
Click and scroll down to playback settings..Uncheck "Playback on DV hardware"...

It is everything that is not mp3. Primiere is only recognizing mp3.

"""There should be a flyout at the top right of the monitor window..

I do not know what a flyout is. Are you talking about Premiere or elsewhere?

A flyout is a little triangle that opens up, and then you scroll down to your settings..
Since i'm using Premiere PRo, it might be slightly different than yours..
If in doubt, go to the help section, and look for "hardware output", or "Export to tape options"....

Try also going under the General settings section, and finding the playback and export options..There should be something there to shut off DV devices....

What a pain in the butte ox. In case any one is interested, somehow premiere no longer recognized the music I had used several times before in the program.I guess when I digitized my self it changed everything. Nothing worked except downloading Audiograbber and re recording the music directly from the cd into a new file in the hard drive in wav form. Wow what a really neat program for a free bee! It put all my chosen music from 6 cd's to disc in a matter of no time with no tears. Premiere then recognized them and I proceeded to open file just like the old days, ,
    last month.
