I am thinking of getting a new multiprocessor editing system for home use and some editing for small marketing co.and have to get editing soft too.
I learned on Pro 1.5 but didnt fall in love, so I was thinking of a bit different route:
How is the new Edius 4 ? is it worth thinking of it in the first year without their card ??Did anybody tryed it hands on ?
    and the learning curve?
How does it compare to the Vegas ? Similar features ? Power ? with and without the card ? Anything wrong with their GUI ?

I've dabbled with premiere 6.5, spent some time looking at Pinnacle Liquid, and I currently use Vegas 5. I like the look and feel of Vegas, and it was not hard to learn. I spent a few hours playing with tutorials, and jumped right in and created some nice videos with effects and extensive editing. I spent about 5 hours trying adobe tutorials, and still had problems with the frame editing. On the pinnacle web site, there were extensive tutorials for Liquid Edition.

Adobe and Vegas are powerful and good, but have limited effects and plug-in's, compared to Liquid Edition. If I was going to buy a new software, I would have to look hard at Pinnacle Liquid, even if it was an older version (Liquid 6 on 7), on ebay. I was just very impressed with the number of tutorials, and how easy it seemed to work on complex projects. I don't know anything about the other softwares. Hope this infomation helps in your search/decision.
