  1. I know for sure the size is 480 x 576 with an aspect ratio is 4 x 3
    I would use PAL @ 25 fps

    Bitrates for ausio used by mje 2420 kbits per second constant - is this ok
    Bit rates for audio - 224 kbits per second @ 44.1 KHz sampling rates - is this ok

    I want to know whther i need to set a particular GOP and sub GOP (Is 15 and 3 respectively ok??)

    are there any other specifications for it to qualfy as an SVCD format recording in order to play in my DVD player??

    I do not want to use the preset

    Also sadvise on the mpeg pack size

  2. SVCD is not part of the DVD spec.

    All info is to be found under WHAT IS top left. From experience, I can tell that some players don't like SVCD encoded at max specs - I had a player that would start to stutter as soon as I went over 2200 kbps A+V bitrate.

    My original Pioneer wouldn't play SVCD at all - not an uncommon problem across a range of manufacturers I have since found.
