  1. Hi.

I have some music downloads from a dj, but they were constructed in a way,
there are no pause between tracks. and it's one big file, instead of individual single
    track files

What i'm trying to say is, and what i would like, i have converted the downloads on to
a blank CDR disc, so i can play on my CD player but i have to use the scan button
to find a track, instead of the normal way, using the skip button to find or foward
to the next track on my cd player.

Is there a tool that will fulfill my request.

    Thanks to all

  2. I have a tool called mp3splt-gtk that will automatically split the file when it finds silence or gaps between tracks, this is great for albums but for continous DJ mixes wont work as welll, but has various other options to split the file so its worth checking out.

But it may be you will have to manually go through the whole track and make a note where u want to split it using something like Goldwave.

  3. You can split an MP3 file with the freeware "MP3 Direct Cut":
    http://mpesch3.de1.cc/mp3dc.html

Or waves with the shareware CDWave:
    http://www.milosoftware.com/cdwave/download.html

Or both with freeware MP3 splitter (never tried this one):

...or cdrdao - there's an example on the home page for how to divide one single wav into different tracks (without splitting the wav):
Assume you have a WAVE file live.wav that contains several minutes of live music and you want to divide it in tracks every 5 minutes with further subdivisions by index marks. You will have to create following toc-file live.toc:

    CD_DA
    TRACK AUDIO
    FILE "live.wav" 0 5:0:0
    INDEX 3:0:0

    TRACK AUDIO
    FILE "live.wav" 5:0:0 5:0:0

    TRACK AUDIO
    FILE "live.wav" 10:0:0 5:0:0
    INDEX 2:0:0

    ...

    Then use

    cdrdao write live.toc

to create a CD without any pre-gaps between the tracks.

And you can burn it with no pause between tracks either.

The commercial Babylon 5 CD from Sonic images is one continuous piece of music when played, but you can skip to different chapters.

    I think that you're right.

I'm pretty sure you just load the single WAV file and then you can set track markers.
