The original poster is talking about a DVD Recorder....not a DVD Burner.

The only way would be to scratch the you know what out of it.

  9. If you have a compatible TV you could use TV Direct REC, if you got it on the DVR.
This will record what you see on your TV.

I should of said "how do you record "Un-copyable" VHS-Tapes, using a Dvd -Recorder"

beacuse some Videos when you record onto DVD, it gets the first few-seconds of the video,
then a message comes & says

'BLOCKING SIGNALS DETECTED' then the dvd-recorder turns itself off!

Just asking, is there anything to do to get around this?

Check eBay for a better price, perhaps around $40.

Does it make sense to use any of these products when using a VCR with time base correction (e.g. JVC HR-S9800U) for tapes other than macrovision protected?

Yes. I use the TBC-1000 along with the HR-S9800U's built in TBC. The TBC in the JVC is not a full frame TBC. It cannot fix all types of video errors. For example, I had a video then when played back acted like the vertical hold on a tv set was out of adjustment. The TBC in the jvc could not stabilize it. When I ran the signal thru the TBC-1000 in addition to the TBC in the jvc, the image stabilized.
