Bomb disposal experts blow up box of used tampons

Army bomb disposal experts have blown up a box stuffed full of used tampons in New Zealand.

Police were called after the suspect package was left outside a dairy in Woodville, North Island.

The area was cordoned off and nearby houses evacuated while army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene.

A woman will appear in court on January 14 charged with making a false allegation, reports The New Zealand Herald.
