I recently downloaded and installed Streamclip 1.7 on Mac G5, dual 2.0, 6gb ram, 2tb raid, 350gb on board drives, OSX 10.4.6, QT 7.0.3, FCP5
Recording DVD-R on Panasonic DMR ES 20 from FCP 5. Faster and cleaner than Compressor.
Copy Panny DVD-R to desktop, open and click .vob, opens in Streamclip. Reports timecode errors. Fix timecode.
When I play back in Streamclip several places skip forward, as though frames have been deleted.
Repeat entire procedure.
Still skipped or deleted frames, in exactly the same locations. To the frame.
It seems as though frames may be cut out at timecode splice points
How can I fix this?
George

Unless you plan to transcode from DVD/MPEG-2 to another format, I see no reason to fix timecode breaks here. If you want to reauthor, just rip (yes, I know your DVD is already unencrypted -- we're going for a single VOB here) and reauthor. Your reauthoring will fix timecode breaks in the remux, and won't drop frames at the original timecode breaks. This has been my experience with DVD Studio Pro 4.

So - just what I have been doing, but skip Fix Timecode Breaks.
Works great in DVD SP 4.
I would have never guessed that one.
Thanks. -
lightimages, quick question:
Does the Panasonic DMR ES 20
have an internal HD to record to,
or does it record straight to DVD-R?"Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

When I'm not here, Where can I be found?

No hard drive in the 20.
I also have DMR-E80H with an 80GB drive that I need to remember to put on ebay, if you are looking. Recorded disks start from menu only, no First Play feature. That's why I bought the 20. Very low hours, great condition, manual, remote, cables, original box, etc. Want to make an offer?
