I really hope someone can help with this one. I have some stereoscopic footage which was shot many years ago using a twin camera rig. I have, recently, managed to get hold of the footage taken from both cameras and would like to pair them back to anaglyph and field sequential formats. That's the easy part.

However, I have one problem that I am struggling to overcome and am hoping that someone out there may be able to help. The footage I have obtained from one camera is clear, sharp and well saturated. The other, however, is badly faded and degraded and has been transferred from low quality VHS at some point. It looks like a copy of a copy of a copy!

Does anyone know of any programs/filters that would be able to repair/reconstruct the degraded footage using the information/detail from the other, bearing in mind that there will be only slight angle differences between the each individual frame?

I have tried improving the degraded footage by itself using a multitude of filters, with only small improvements.

I suspect that what I am trying to do may be possible by interlacing the two and then deinterlacing using a deinterlacer that can correct differences in fields - this, however, is just an idea that might be possible.

I would welcome any assistance or ideas you think may work in this case.
