eDonkey 1.4

Wasn't eDonkey shut down by RIAA? No I see new version 1.4 out there...I'm confused can anyone explain what is going on?

Did they areally get shut down? I thought that just that some of the servers got raided by police/feds/whoever does that.

all free versions are full of spyware and adware now ... paid version has spyware

If you must go down this path, use the spyware free eMule. Personally I can't be bothered. I use the occassional torrent for legit stuff, but otherwise P2P seems to have little of value. It will be interesting to see if more targeted P2P like Pando takes off.

I have 1.4, though I don't use it anymore. It didn't have spyware when I installed it. Well it comes packaged with it, but you have the option to not install it right from the start. Maybe that has changed by now.
