    Hi all,

I am going to pick up my new and first DV camcorder today, the Canon Optura 600. Well, actually it is for my wife's birthday, as she wanted a small cam that her small hands would be comfortable with and very lightweight. I really wanted the Sony HDR-HC1 HDV cam, but I thought she would complain about it being too big.

Anyone have any experience with the Canon and can share some thoughts, insights, watch-out for, tips or accessories, I would be very grateful.

    Thanks.

  4. I read two articles on different trips to asia. The first one on JAL said Japanese consumer rated Canon first for best and reliable electronics products. The second one was on SIA, that Chinese Government temporary halted Sony Camera productiion in China, because too many of them failed China's quality test.

Happy Canon owner here. I've had mine since 2000 -it was the first miniDV model to shoot progressive- and it's still going strong.
