Friend of mine is soccer player. He has promo dvd with video clips, so I tried to burn ISO image, to help him to transfer that video abroad. It is much cheaper.
But, whenever I tried to burn that ISO file, NERO asked me for CD disc instead of DVD disc??? Video is 450 Mb.
What did I wrong?
Which IMAGE extension is most common?

please wait a few days before you bump/reply to your topic.
what is the image format? bin/cue? nero nrg? -
When you say "video is 450 Mb" I take you mean that the image file (iso, bin, nrg, img, whatever) is 450 Mb. That definitely sounds like a CD image and not a DVD image. Nero seems to be advising you correctly to use a CD and not a DVD. Why not humor Nero and try it their way just once?

Thanks for reply
That video is only 7 minutes long (goals and best moments from a few games). I have it on DVD disc. Now I want to create IMAGE (ISO for example) file.
I used NERO to create ISO file, and after I tried to burn (just to check) that image to DVD it respond:
"SORRY, YOUR COMPILATION CANNOT BE WRITTEN ON THIS KIND OF DISC. PLEASE INSERT A DISC OF THE CORRECT TYPE OR MODIFY THE SETTINGS OF YOUR COMPILATION TO MAKE IT COMPATIBLE WITH THE CURRENT DISC"
With CD it works good.
After that, I created ISO file with DVD Shrink, but NERO responded same answer

I just check - with Alcohol 120% it works fine.
What should I do to concillate NERO to burn that image on DVD -
just go to new dvd video and burn your files in Nero. You don't have to create an image first and then burn.

INFRATOM I do not want to burn DVD, I already had that DVD burt, I want to create image (ISO for example) file, to upload it to the internet and to enable some people to download it as an IMAGE file. Point is that those people burn that image file to DVD.
My problem is that NERO do not want to burn ISO image file to the DVD disc, it ask me to insert CD.
Alcohol 120% made DVD without any problem.
I'm not a magician and I have no idea what software they use. I supose they use Nero or Alcohol 120% as a most common burning software.
I would like to thankyou all for time you spent on my problem

Try burning it to DVD-R with DVDDecrypter or ImgBurn

I think all he wants to do is create an DVD ISO file. He doesn't want to burn a DVD, he already has the video on a DVD. He's just burning the ISO to test that it'll work for others when they try to burn it. Right now he's ripped it to a CD ISO file and he want instructions on how to properly rip a DVD into a DVD ISO.

How do you rip a DVD to CD ISO? Is that possible at all?
My take on this is that the OP has "ripped" a DVD to ISO, but Nero insists it's a CD ISO. Maybe the OP can enlighten us?

I think Folder2Iso will do the trick
RogerThere are many ways to measure success. You just have to find your own yardstick. -
Same target, same distance
It works fine with DVDdecripter and with Alcohol 120%... It does not work with NERO.
Unbelivable
OK, I created ISO image of 1 Gb (birthday party) with same NERO software, and after I tried to burn it, NERO allow me to burn it on DVD (Hey Mr Nero, WHY), actually it gave me only DVD as a oportunity
Now I'm completely confused -
Don't be. I'd say this is typical Nero behaviour. Obviously, Nero assumes an image <= CD capacity to be a CD image. Even if I don't think there's any way to determine if an ISO image is a DVD or CD, Nero ought at least to give you the option to write to DVD even if the image would fit a CD.
I gave up on Nero long ago, and have never had a reason to look back. It's just too erratic to me.

if it's just 7 minutes you might as well just convert it to .wmv and let people stream it from the website. 7 minutes isn't worth sitting down on the couch, turning the lights off, and watching in your dvd player/TV..
does everyone who downloads the file have a dvd-burner? Even if they do, do they know what to do with an .ISO file or even have the software to read it?
WMV or MPG. -
I just love this forum every time someone asks a question you get all this bs the man just asked how to make an iso in nero
open nero and before you load files at the top there should be a drop down for burner choice pick Image Recorder (DVD) then open DVD-Video Files and add your files and then select next at the bottom right and click burn and pick where you want the .nrg image put -
I tried to burn that ISO file, NERO asked me for CD disc instead of DVD discthe man just asked how to make an iso in nero

I remember I have read in the forum that 1 gb is a DVD Video limitation - the compilation must be not less than 1 gb. In fact DVDDecrypter and (probably) Alcohol 120 silenly record zeroes to fill up the required size. It doesn't matter as the disc must be closed anyway. But Nero obviously assumed you need at least 1 gb to write to DVD Video. Interesting, what will happen if you have let say about 900 mb image?
