OK, I've authored and burned so many single layer discs I couldn't eve count, but I have yet to try my hand at DL. I have the burner, so what do I do now? I've read about layer breaks. I'm using DVD Lab Pro 1.53 for authoring. Do I just author up to the set size limit for a DL disc and author like normal? What software do I need for burning? Free would be best.

If your burner come bundle with a Sonic RecordNow 7 or later, then you in luck. Use it and burn Audio_TS & Video_TS folders. Burn as data dics. RecordNow will take care of layer break.
DL disc can hold about 8.5gig. -
