  1. OK, I've authored and burned so many single layer discs I couldn't eve count, but I have yet to try my hand at DL. I have the burner, so what do I do now? I've read about layer breaks. I'm using DVD Lab Pro 1.53 for authoring. Do I just author up to the set size limit for a DL disc and author like normal? What software do I need for burning? Free would be best.

If your burner come bundle with a Sonic RecordNow 7 or later, then you in luck. Use it and burn Audio_TS & Video_TS folders. Burn as data dics. RecordNow will take care of layer break.

DL disc can hold about 8.5gig.

When you have your files ready, open them using PgcEdit. Go to File. Burn DVD/Create Iso. PgcEdit does a great job on setting the layer break. Then burn that ISO file with ImgBurn. Try to burn somewhere around 2.4X. You should have no problem.
