  1. Hi Everyone,

I know that you can import Quicktime movies into Toast 7 and author a DVD. However, can you import Windows Media Player video files into Toast 7 and author a DVD? If so, how can you accomplish this task. Thanks in advance for your comments.

    1. must have Flip4Mac's WMV Player installed.
    2. Files must be WM7, 8, or 9 with no DRM.
    3. And be prepared for a long conversion time.

  3. Hi terryj,

Thanks for your reply. I would like to ask whether Flip4Mac's free WMfiles player is sufficient for this task or do I need to purchase the upgraded players that allow importing of files, http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_upgrades.htm . Please advise.

    Thanks!

hmmm...I will check on that and see.
I do have the WMV Studio Pro
on the machine I'm on now, and it works fine.

When I get home, I will check this on my wife's iBook,
which has just the WMV Player 2.0 installed.

I tried the Toast 7/ WMV Player 2 combo and it worked. There was the expected small loss in picture quality, but it worked.

    Thanks, Omega.
I tried also with a small WMV file of 7 mins
and it also worked. The quality wasn't that great
    ( 320 x 288 @ 15fps), but yes it did work.

  8. Would someone be so kind to instruct me how to use the Flip4Mac player to get a WMV file imported into Toast 7? Many thanks in advance.

Once you have downloaded and installed the F4M component its just drag and drop. If you are having problems, make sure it plays in QT. If it doesn't play in QT it won't work in Toast.
