Hello!
Ok, now that I have my ground on the subject of DVD ripping, I need some good opinions. I have a GE 1101p, and I did a Knight's Tale on SVCD. While the video quality was top notch, I have some beefs:
(1) Out of sync. The first maybe 10 minutes were ok. Audio fell behind.
(2) Inability to fast forward. Won't fast forward. When chopped into "chapters", triggers a 2-3 second pause every time it changes.
I used KalEl's "lower" SVCD template. If I used say, the normal SVCD template, would that resolve the sync issue? Also, I am thinking maybe I would benefit from XVCD. I know that this player can fast forward through VCDs (and therefore, MPEG1?), and I like the resolution of SVCDs. If I simply make an XVCD with 480x480 or 720x480, would I get near-SVCD coolness? Should I use a SeVCD or SxVCD template? Soo many questions. Maybe I'll dumb it down. I want:
480x480 or 720x480 resolution
Max. 4 cds per 2.5 hours
Able to fast forward OR chapters without long pause
A/V sync.

webmiester1331, first...if you're using nero to make chapters...there will be a pause in between.
also, certain dvd players need scandata.dat (or something similar) to be able to fast forward. it needs to be added to one of the folders in the SVCD. search on this site for more help with that.
about the audio being outta sync, i also ripped Knight's Tale in SVCD without any outta sync. perhaps making the chapters caused to be outta sync????
