  1. It's been well over a couple of years since my last visit, I'm not sure if this post is appropriate for this section. I've been trying to find a way to save the actual movie files from YouTube.com to my harddrive (these videos are played through Flash Player, which from what I know, plays through Internet Explorer only). So far it's been unsuccessful. I've been able to identify the actual movie files found in my Temporary Internet Files, but there's no way that I know to open them. Various media players I've tried found these files unrecognizable... Can anyone enlighten me on how this can be accomplished?

Have you tried a all forum search for 'youtube'? I found 14 responses.

One of them may be able to guide you.

I was wondering this same thing, too.

What I have noticed during my short visits, was that the video files are served in different
    flavors.. divX; Mov; etc.

And, in some cases, I have also found a few very poorly (pixelated) sources
