  1. Just got MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 11 but can't figure out how to make a simple edit. After I load and detect scenes I want to cut out certain content from the middle of a scene. Most editors let you mark a section and cut but this program is very non-intutive. I can delete the beginning or end of a scene but don't know how to mark or cut a section out of the middle. Any help would be appreciated. I also have an e-mail to support.

  2. I got a short answer from MAGIX for anyone interested. I guess this editor is not used by many here. Anyway, to edit you must break up the movie into scenes. Within a scene you use the shortcut key "T" to create a new scene. Using this process you can isolate the parts you want to cut, to a scene on the storyline and then delete the scene. A little indirect but it works.

Make sure you are working on time line mode and not on story board. To swich between them just press the tab botton. Also if you look at the top of the screen on the menu bar there is an option the has tutorial links for what you want to do ( at least on v. 10+ wish is the one that I own)
    I want to believe....

  4. yeah, I use Magix 2004 but I assume it's the same. You just cut up scenes then delete the sections you don't want.

I think Magix is really a top-notch low-cost edit software. I find new stuff every time I use it. I just figured out how to zoom in on still so any part you want. Very cool if the still is good resolution. Some Magix features are herder to figure out than they ought to be because the help guide is AWFUL.

A couple of forums for Magix are the Magix.net (I think) and another one not run by Magix that I get to from www.aaproductions.net . This is a few guys who got sick of the Magix board. Neither is very active so sometimes it takes a while to get a question answered, but it'sMagix specific so they know the program. ANY non-Magix questions, THIS is the place!

If you're going for good DVDs, I found the encoding not the best, at least for DV footage. I use TMPGenc anyhow so that's fine. Also, if you output as an AVI it creates a type 1 AVI which many encoders don't like, at least in my version.
