    my nec 3520a keeps changing into a cd drive when i put in a dvd-r, the icon is a dvd writer but then i put the disk in and it says its a data disk and the icon changes to a cd, i click the disk and it says windows carnt read the format or the disk is corrupt, it worked fine untiol the computer crashed

    Try upgrading the firmware.
