I'm following these instructions for another vid I have (https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=222005), and have run into a couple of problems. First of all, when I try to run Fit CD on it, or Gpot and they're both choking on me. I renamed the ogm file to an avi (per the instructions), but I suppose because it's a complex package, it's not working. But how do I get my parameters to figure out what I need? I doubt I can just plug it into Tmpgence and get it right the first time.
When I pulled down the stream list, the only two streams were the subtitles and the audio. (I'm going over to the subtitle forum for another question).

you usually can't just rename ogm to avi and have it work for the most part. ogm is a different animal, related but not close enough. to change an ogm into an avi try this free converter.
http://ogmtoavi.sourceforge.net/
then encode the resulting avi to mpeg.--

Thanks. I"ll give it a try. Makes me wonder why that guide with those instructions were put out there, though. Also, would I have to do my subtitles differently? I've not tried putting my own subtitles on a video before and plan to read the guide from the forum more carefully.
