  1. I have two VOBs, they are PAL. Each is named by a title like Boxing1 & Boxing2.
I used TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 to create a menu and to make them burn friendly.
I noticed the VOBs are now larger on the TMPGEnc DVD Author created DVD.
    Why ?
Have they been re-encoded ? If so does this mean a loss in picture and playback quality ?

My understanding is that TDA does not (and cannot ?) re-encode, unlike some other budget authoring apps. It can convert audio, however unless your VOBs have grown by a large amount, the most likely explanation is that you have created menus, added chapters etc, and all this has been added to the VOBs.

The simplest way to test for loss of quality is to play it back and watch it for yourself. If you can't see any loss then it doesn't really matter what it did, does it ?

As per above, no. What does it look like when YOU play it back ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
