  1. Hi to all,

I create a DVD using Adobe Encore and the subtitles inserted have a very thin font, I think this is a problem to the OCR identification on Subrip, last night I expended like 3 Hours to extract a 42min subtitles and the subs still have a lot of crashes. So can I use other method to extract this subs??? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "very thin". I think that Subrip should be able to OCR even very thin fonts. What did you used to create the original subs? What font did you use? Post a screen shot of what you are talking about.

  3. Admittedly he's not being very clear, but I read it as saying that the OCR'd subs are thin. If default, aren't they SRT and Ariel? Anyway, he can convert or OCR to SSA, for example, and choose any font and thickness under the sun. Or he can use VobSub Configure (comes with VobSub) and extract the original DVD Subtitle pictures in IDX/SUB format. I don't know whether or not Encore can work with them, though.

.srt subs is no font/typeface at all.
I think what the OP means, is that the original typeface is thin, giving srt ocr routines a headache.
If SubRip can't OCR it, then either demux the subs to a subtitle stream (.sup) or to (as mentioned) with Vobsub to sub/idx.
Then author with an app that supports the format used.
