  3. What astounds me is that, not only did respond to your own post in JUST 3 hours...impatient huh??....but that you could not find this information yourself...no 2.35:1, aka "Cinemascope", will not fit on majority widescreen TVs..as they support 1.85:1, aka widescreen....actually their TRUE ratio support is 1.78:1...but no one seems to care about losing .07 of the wdith.

  4. So widescreen is not really such a great innovation. The introduction of 1.85:1 TV's means that there will soon be 3 aspect ratio's in the TV industry, because 2.35:1 will be out soon, im sure. But maybe by that time, 4:3 will be phased out, so people can only get confused over 2 aspect ratio's again?

maybe 2:35:1 will be die and we will have 1:85:1, the good widescreen.

  6. I don't think 2:35 to 1 will ever die - it's a great wide panaramic view. On my widescreen television, the black bars top and bottom are slight - looks great!

  7. 2.35:1 - the natural aspect ratio, is the best. So on a widescreen TV, a 2.35:1 movie looks the same as a 1.85:1 movie on a 4:3 TV. Its just to confusing. Right now, the only reason someone can proclaim that 1.85:1 is better, is because there is no TV that plays cinemascope in full screen! they will introduce that soon, juts to **** everybody up, it will be a repeat of the 1.85:1 and 4:3 confusion. Its a crazy industry. Just set multiple standards to confuse the shit out of people, instead of using one and being simple (PAL & NTSC) (4:3, 16:9, 2.35:1) (DVD Region Bullshit).
