I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that this is crap media.

I agree. I was just curious as a friend asked me about them and I was surprised to find very little info anywhere about them. Just needed some info to help steer this guy in another direction. :P

I bought a 25 pack of them late last year. I had unreliable results after 5 burns so I gave the rest away. The person I gave them to had nothing but complaints and threw out the remainder of the spindle. Don't waste your money on these.

Ahh, brand X. There's a name that just exudes quality! This can join the list of other brand names that inspire massive confidence like Playo.

Why would you even want to spend $37.95 on this generic crap when you can easily buy a high quality name brand media for the same price?

I couldn't tell you the media code as I didn't have mine long enough to find out. If I had to guess I'd say the media code would be CR@99Y TRa5H

Besides, Staples has 50 packs of Memorex 16x DVD+/-R's on sale this week for $14.88. I haven't had any problems with them.

Some of you guys are having way too much fun with this thread. j/k

Bestbuy has Verbatium 16x 50 pack 14.99 - also rumored that some stores have older 8x (MCC....003 and MCC 02RG20) media at this price as well. My local store only has 16x.

In that case, I'd buy two 50 packs of those verbatims and forget about this other media and this thread.
