  1. i am trying to demux an audio stream from an mpeg1 file. when i play the mpeg the sound plays fine the whole forty-something minutes of the movie, but when i tried demultiplexing the stream in tmpgenc it only comes out to about 12-13 minutes. I also tried loading the mpeg file into virtualdub and it says the movie is only about 13 1/2 minutes, so i'm guessing there is an error in the file, although i don't encounter it while playing it. is there a software to fix mpeg1 errors? also if that can't fix the problem, anyone know a way where i can record the audio while the mpeg is playing; without having to hold a microphone next to the speaker? thanks.

i tried using mpeg corrector. the resulting mpeg file plays fine but virtualdub and tmpgenc reports no streams in the file.

i also tried vcdgear, mpeg to mpeg conversion with fix mpeg errors checked, but when i demultiplex the audio is still only 13 1/2 minutes long.

i just checked in tmpgenc demultipluxer and it shows the audio stream information but not the video stream information for the problem file. i tried some other files and it showed both stream informations that worked. so, it could be something wrong with the video stream, but, i successfully demultiplexed a full audio stream from a file before which also had no stream information for the video in tmpgenc.

Did you use VirtualDub's error checking mode? Load the video file and select 'Video - Scan Video Stream for Errors', and see what it comes up with.

Chances are there is a bad frame in the stream that is conflicting with your attempts at demuxing that audio stream. Likely if you correct that video stream error, the audio will pop right into place for you.

Try it and post back with your results, ok?

    Cheers!
