okay quick version of my sitch. my cuz thought that he was doing good by buying me an Apex player for christmas cause he has an Apex and it can play everything that he throws at it. but mine is a different model than his. I tested an xvcd disk on said model at the store and it was fine. but I only played about 2 minutes. get it home and after about 5 minutes things go wacky. checked the web and no one has ever gotten an xvcd to play on my model. the cuz didn't catch that part and neither did I.
so now I have this player and a stack of disks that I can't play on it. but it does fine with all my regular VCDs. don't have the source files to re-encode either (and I can't take back the machine. don't ask). so what I need is to know if there is a way to convert the xvcds to plain vcds.but it has to be with a Mac (g4 with 9.1OS and the latest version of Toast). I tried VCDgear but it errors on the invalid dat signature. thinking maybe there is something else.
please help if you can and soon. thanks.
