Copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive first. Then use ffmpegX. Many tweaks available within this app to maximize quality.

Alternatively, use Handbrake pointed right to the DVD. You may adjust the quality level but with less precision than ffmpegX.

You also can use Toast 7 to extract the MPEGs from the DVD (don't have to copy the VIDEO_TS folder to the hard drive) and encode DivX.

    Hi,

    There are two choices:

    1) use forty-two VX. It do all the work directly from the DVD fpr you. But, it is not free.

    2) A two pass descriptio:
2.1) Decrypt the DVD using mactheripper (it is free)
2.2) use ffmpegX to transform the decrypted VIDEO_TS in an divx file.

    Good luck.
