    I am looking for the easiest way to trim 49 seconds off of an XVID avi without having to re-encode it. any suggestions?

    does it usally take a long time to save the resulting trimmed video?

    The file I am working from is an XVID .avi 960x528 with AC3 stereo audio. Approx. 25 Min. length. I trimmed the first 49 seconds off and chose Save As...

    Now it's been about 15 minutes and the thing has only written 2 seconds of video so far!
    My comp is slow but not THAT slow! Am I doing something wrong?
