Sorry for my ignorance but i would like to find out what the max burn speed of my DVD burner is. I could not find the information anywhere on my computer.
I went to properties of the Dvd drive but there is not information there either.
Can someone plese help me out?

Let me see I'll dust off my crystal ball and tell which make and model burner you have. From there I'll use the same magic to give you 16x burning speed in a 2x drive.

I have a HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B.
I could not find any info on the internet either on what speed it can write.

Go with your media speed RW's are 4x I have not seen 6x or 8x in any store yet and for +or -R I burn 16x media at 8x. write spped starts at 4x and it changes when it changes gear if you have a bad media it will spike and will put a freeze at that point
