Has anyone here tried to repair scratched discs with Merlin's disc magic? It states that it can repair even deep scratches. www.merlinstable.com Any feedback?

I've been using it on a few discs, with mixed but mostly positive results. Minor scratches and scuffs can in fact be removed, with the solution/patch method, and some patience. but Not deeper ones.

Something I've been using for quite a while for music CD's is Digital Innov. DataDr.
    http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=167242

I've also used it on DVD's that are pretty marked up, with varying degrees of success.
(examples of this are the kids Elmo and Dora DVD's)

Two or three rotations (with added cleaning solution) and some buff work with a clean
chamy, will clean up a lightly scratched DVD pretty well.

For deeper etching, well...they play or they don't. (depending on dvd player used)
That's why now...I back them up as soon as we get them!...
    The Devil`s always.....in the Details!

  4. Please be careful using DataDr. -- I was too aggressive in the rotations, and the device literally took the data layer off my music CD, and it becamse completely unplayable.
