Just downloaded VLC media player. Unzipped it and tried to use it but nothing works. Tried to opn the VLC.exe and nada? Anyone guess why, or how to get it to work?

If you download the exe version, it will self install. I would imagine that with the zip version, you have to unzip and then install it. You can't just unzip and run it.

When I unzipped all there was, was the exe file anbd a bunch of .dll's and plug-ins no Installer? Clikcing the exe did nothing....I guess I'll try the self install download...

Make sure you have the .exe linked on the front page.
Should be named "vlc-0.8.4a-win32.exe" it should have no other files with it.
When you double click on that file it doesn't popup and ask you to selete a language?
The default installer shouldn't be zipped to begin with.
