  1. I was wondering if it's possible to record from my dish network HDTV box to something like the "JVC HM-DH5U HDTV VCR"? http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=132413&WT.mc_n=67&WT.mc_t=U&c m_ven=COMPARISON%20SHOPPING&cm_cat=PRICEGRABBER&cm _pla=DATAFEED->PRODUCTS&cm_ite=1%20PRODUCT&cm_keycode=67

This is the satelite box I have http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/dishhd/receivers/vip211/index.shtml

I belive the satelite has a firewire out and I see the HDTV VCR has a firewire in.

That's what the firewire port is for. To be hooked up to a d-vhs deck for recording.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  3. Now I see the manual for my VIP211 HDTV receiver from Dish Network says the Ethernet port is "for future use" so I don't know if this is an output or a dead port. Anyone here know about this receiver?

No point buying a HDTV recorder if I have no way of inputing same.
